Aeronautical study for Etimesgut Airport, Yuva District 43256-2
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulations defined in Annex 14 specify airspace around aerodromes to be maintained free from obstacles. For that purpose, virtual surfaces called “Obstacle Limitation Surface” (OLS) are described, which ideally shall not be penetrated by an object. Nevertheless – according to ICAO, EASA and many states – penetrations may be acceptable if an “aeronautical study” demonstrates that the object or obstacle has no adverse impact on the safety or regularity of flight operations. This process generally requires a specialised third-party – as Segar Engineering & Aviation – to develop the aeronautical study, which shall be later submitted and reviewed by the responsible aviation authority. As Segar Engineering & Aviation; According to ICAO EUR DOC 015 criteria, we have determined the effects of the Etimesgut Area Navigation Buildings for BRA and the ICAO PANS-OPS DOC 8168 criteria for the Etimesgut Area Lowing / Climbing Plans.
Based on the ICAO EUR DOC 015 criteria, we have found that the S / S devices do simulation studies for the remaining areas within the BRA and affect ICAO PANS-OPS DOC 8168 criteria. We have made detailed analyzes in terms of descent / climbing plans and offered alternative applications.
As a result of the work done, we determined the criteria that the planned building violated and made Risk Assessment according to Annex-7 of the Implementation of Safety Management System in Airports (SHT-SMS / HAD) and specified Risk Mitigation Measures and Procedures.
The report has been approved by Turkish Air Force.
