Obtacle Limitation Surface Analysis
Obstacle is defined as any temporary, fixed or moving object, or some of them, that exceeds or surpasses the surfaces specified for the safety of the aircraft taxi on the runway or flight on the route, but which can be cause danger in air navigation.
Specified heights should not be exceeded for new construction in some areas around the airports in order to be able to organize safety aircraft operations at airports that is obstacles should not be allowed.In this context,Airport Obstacle Plans are prepared by Republic Of Turkey Ministry Of Transport,Maritime Affairs And Communications and Republic Of Turkey Ministry Of National Defense after then these plans send to the relevant municipalities, governorships and all institutions and organizations that have the authority to make a construction plan for their implementation.
These institutions and organizations must also make the construction plan in accordance with the criteria specified in the obstacle plans.In cases where it is determined that there are inconsistencies with the prepared airport obstacle plans (Article 47 of the Turkish Civil Aviation Act 2920); The necessary actions are taken by the governorship concerned in order to ensure the safety of flight, life and property.Thus,it is necessary to comply with these plans to prevent the exist of obstacles and to provide airport and flight safety so that situations can not be compensated are avoided and it is very important to prevent the airports becoming unusable.
In the scope of Obstacle Plans, expertise, training and engineering services required by the airport base commands / directorates and landowners / contractors are fulfilled in accordance with international standards and criteria.
